OBEC welcomes Arlene Weible and Bill Gerski as the newest members of the OBEC Steering Committee.

Arlene Weible (she/her) is a Library Consultant at the State Library of Oregon. A native Oregonian, she worked as a librarian in Connecticut, Washington State, and Texas before returning to Oregon in 2006. In her current position, she provides support to local libraries around the state to grow local digital equity activities, helps connect libraries to state and federal government information and services programming, and manages statewide online library resources. She served as the President of the Oregon Library Association from 2021-2022.

Bill Gerski has extensive experience working in the broadband industry and currently serves as Vice President of Marketing and Sales for Beacon Broadband, a subsidiary of Coos-Curry Electric Cooperative, Inc. In 2020, Bill was awarded the Digital Opportunity Equity Recognition Award by the FCC for his work on creating the Senior 2 Senior Program. Seniors 2 Seniors is a hands-on program where our older generation is taught by high school seniors to learn about navigating the internet, internet safety and how to do many skills on their computers and phones. Bill recently launched the Connected Senior program on the Southern Oregon Coast for local residents.
